First and foremost, Southern Company, one of our nation’s largest electric utilities, awarded NSC their coveted Triangle Safety Award for work performed in 2013.
The criteria to win the Triangle award:
- Working a minimum of 100,000 man-hours;
- AN OSHA Recordable Incident Rate of .50 or below;
- No lost time injuries; and
- No interruptions to plant production or operations.
The work scope on these projects has included:
- Electrostatic Precipitator retrofits and upgrades;
- Large ID fan installations;
- The erection of ductwork support steel and associated duct;
- Combustion boiler modifications; and
- The installation of large fabric filter AQCS systems.
Looking ahead to 2015, NSC will maintain its focus on the nation’s Electric Utility industry in projects tied to meeting environmental compliance regulations, the installation of Gas-Fired Simple and Combined Cycle units, as well as installation of Heat Recovery Steam Generators and Air Cooled Condensers.
